 MSc MSE : AY21/22 Sem 2
 Well, it's almost time for module selection season and I'm finally updating this review for AY2021/22 Sem 2. This will be my final module review since I'm finally graduating for good (I hope, unless I decide to take on another post-grad degreee/PhD?). Similar to the previous semester, I was working while trying to clear my final 3 modules of my MSc and lucky/unlucky for me I managed to get a mod taught by my boss, so that made my life slightly easier, yet there were expectations to be met. Aside to this being my last semester, it will also likely be the last semester that NUS will hold modules online in view of the improving COVID-19 situation. That means the mark allocation and grading requirements might change for modules again, On the bright side, at least you will get to meet your peers. One of the saddest things throughout my MSc life is that I never once met with any of my course mates, well in fact, I have never seen anyone in person, so that's pretty sad. All in all, this MSc journey had not been easy, but we made it.  Once again I'm back with another set of module reviews. This was suppose to come out earlier or at least before the previous one, but due to some super unforeseen laptop crashing, I'm only writing this so late into the holidays. Not sure if I mentioned this already in my previous posts, but MSc coursework programs for part time students are normally 2.5 years long (aka 5 semesters) but in view of my impending unemployment, I've decided to try to finish my Masters within 2 years. That entails me doing 3 mods each for the remaining 2 semesters and after this semester, I can safely say that it was a very bad idea. Not only has the workload increased exponentially, it's also a lot of stress working on multiple projects, trying to not fail my quizzes and managing work-life balance.  Not very sure if anyone would find these reviews useful anymore since it's for post-grads and I think most people just take stuff that they are already working on at work, but I'll still keep this series going. We're in mid-June now and results came out on 1 June this time. Found some time to consolidate my thoughts and I guess, this semester was harder than before (though I think it's still not as bad as Year 2 Sem 2, that was a horrible sem). We're still on the COVID work from home period so lessons were still conducted online but we did have a chance to attend some face-to-face classes if the class size < 50.  And so I decided that further studies is the way to go in this horrible pandemic-struck economy. After getting my Bachelor's in June, I somehow got convinced to go for a part-time Master's degree in Material Sciences & Engineering. The people around probably know that I wasn't really considering this degree and was leaning a lot of into Forensics, Food Sciences and Public Health. But somehow or another, I decided that the 4 years of torture in Engineering was not enough and decided to get back into the game. Maybe there was this part in me that thought that since I had an Engineering degree, it wouldn't be too hard for me to handle it at a Master's level, especially since I took 5k mods at an undergraduate level. Oh boy, I was so very wrong. Stepping into the module with zero prior knowledge was a terrible mistake. I found myself struggling to catch up with work and eventually there was a point in time where I just gave up on trying to understand and every lecture was just going through the motion and attempting to digest what had been taught.
