Another sleepless night, so here's a short (or maybe not so short) post on friendship. (I swear I love this Little Thoughts Birdy picture)
So, today's topic, Friendship. Something thatan be so simple yet so complicated. But wells, never understood what made things so complicated in the first place.
To start things off let's start with the first sub-topic Read more »Labels: 2017, Friends, Little Thoughts by Sam, random, Reflection
Well today's topic isn't all about reviews on social issues. I'm bringing it to the inside. Self reflection. And hopefully this might be useful for some people reading? Who knows ? Read more »Labels: Little Thoughts by Sam, random, Reflecting On the last day of March, I'm dedicating this relatively emotional and sentimental post to my dear friends. For those who might not know me as well, you'll probably expect me to be one of those happy go lucky person who take things really lightly and as quoted can "make friends without fears". Well, I'm not that fearless actually. I guess if you've been following this blog for long enough, or have nothing better to do and went to scroll down 200+ post to the early days (oh I cringe at those days when I literally post 3 lines for fun), you'll probably realize how badly things were going for me when I first entered secondary school. From the sadness of missing my old friends to the excitement of making new friends and eventually the pains of being betrayed by the people I trust the most. I guess you could say that all this is part and parcel of life and I guess it is with all these experiences that I've become who I am today. (Though I'm more than a week late) Well, it's already been really busy this year. Didn't have the time to write a year end reflection post for 2015 so I shall add a short reflection into this post as well. *Warning! This will be a pretty long post* Now to start off, it's only been a week into the new year and I've been really busy. For those of you who already know, I'm juggling ad hoc jobs together with my tuition job and now I'm taking on the buffet server job. Sounds like I'm mad but yeah, need the money. My tuition job is my first ever job and it's been really good up till now. Still can't believe that I got the job which started right after my chalet and it's quite interesting teaching the kids. Unlike what most people think, I currently have 2 students for each class and it's pretty manageable for me (No need to use the white board phew). Other than that, I'm trying out this hotel job as a buffet server (more of table clearer haha). To be really honest, I've never really expected myself to take on such a job because I try to avoid jobs that need me to 'serve' others but well, somehow I got this job and somehow, it's been pretty alright. (At least on my first day). I guess it's been really nice to have money flowing into my pockets finally and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the month when I can confirm more permanent ad hoc jobs with other companies. Next, shall talk a bit about my fun times. Seriously, I'd never though that I'd still be hanging out with some people after we graduate. 2015 was a pretty hard year and loads of things happened. Some of my closest friends left me and some came back (or did they). Things happened at home and results was pretty shitty. I guess 2015 was really a roller coaster ride. But I'm glad that it's over. If you asked me to go back and restart the year, I would change some things that I did and said but no regrets. People come and go and I think there's no point being sad over the few who don't treasure you. Well, moving on to the happier stuff. Glad to have my friends with me, and I'm pretty surprised who I ended up going to Poly Open House with haha. Interesting bunch. Haven't laughed so hard in such a long time, so much so that my face was aching when I got home. I'm convinced that once you hit 18, all your conversations really change a lot. We no longer have any self-censorship and boom everything from bras to R21 topics take over. Moving on to the new year, adventures part. This year will hopefully bring me to new places, to meet new people and hopefully bring me to a better place that will create more meaningful memories. I've had my fair share of pain and suffering and I'm pretty sure, this year there will be more of such experiences, yet, I'm confident that I'm ready to handle what is ahead. With the people that actually care and love me, thanks for all the support y'all have given me all this while. I'm sure 2016 will be a better year. From 2015, I've learnt to let things go. Forget the people who treated you badly, forget the things that made you unhappy and really focus on the important things in life, the important people and mainly, focus on your own dreams. I hope that this post wasn't too boring (it probably was cuz of the reflection and shit) and I hope it inspired you to take on a new perspective in life. May 2016 bring us happiness and more fun. All the best everyone. Sam Labels: 2016, Life, random, Reflection MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY 2015 TO EVERYONE!!!! 5 more days to 2015! Can't believe time flew by so quickly, school's going to start soon and NO I'M NOT READY!!!!!! (I don't wanna start school) Didn't really the time to update this blog (I have a whole stack of albums to edit and food reviews to write, on top of the huge heap of homework and revision to do) Well, December flew by real quickly. Everyday was just about going to school, gym and training. Not much time to rest. Dec'14: - Loads of good food with the family - Training and more training - Family gatherings - Loads of shopping & buying new clothes That really sums up my December this year. I guess this is gonna be a really short post since I'll leave all the food stuff to the other food review posts and shall start working on my new year resolution post soon. Signing off for now~ Labels: 2014, Christmas, Holidays, random, Short post So tired after a long long day!
Went to End of Year Festival (EOY) today.
Don't even know why I was there but i decided to go and take a look at the cosplay.
Location.
Have to say that the Marina Barrage though it being a nice place and all with the awesome view, isn't the best place to hold a cosplay event.
It was so got this afternoon I bet all those cosplayers were sweating in their costumes and wigs. (I was in t-shirt and jeans and was sweating like mad already)
It started to rain in the evening and being in a open space isn't the best place either. Most cosplayers left when they saw the looming clouds and heard thunder.
In conclusion, there have got to be better places to hold such an event which would be more suitable and convenient as well (saw many cosplayers in their costumes taking the bus and trying to leave before the rain came )
Organization.
It was not that bad. There were many stores selling Japanese goods and the ice-cream store sure was a hit in the hot afternoon sun. The performance were great as well.
It was generally well organized and quite orderly.
No trouble makers this time.
Cosplays.
Most of the people there were at AFA'13 as well (recognized a few people) and many were dressing up as the same character.
As compared to AFA'13, there is a lack of variety and many sophisticated cosplayers were not there ( didn't see those robots/huge monster things )
I have to say that these cosplayers really put in a lot of effort in their costumes and make-up. (Kudos to the effort put in by everyone! )
In general, the event was a success with a great turn up. Lookig forward to the next cosplay event in 2014!
Signing off

Labels: Cosplay, EOY'13, photo shoot outing, random, review Hello On-line world! I doubt anyone still reads this blog, but I'm gonna do this random update for old time's and memory sake. It's been a super duper long while since I updated (kinda neglected this blog since I'm on other social platforms now)
So for an update of my life....
It's already December and the year is coming to an end. Can't believe that time pasts by so so freaking fast. At around this time last year I was still freaking out about Os and now it's all over (it's been over for a while now)
I've been slacking to the max and going out almost everyday since Os ended.
So here's the highlights of what'd happened and what to look out for for the rest of the holidays (not much left but who cares...)
1. Prom night
2. Shopping and Craziness
3. Photo shoot outings
4. Korean class (finally I've started!!)
5. VACATION (EUROPE!!!!!!!)
That's about it.
Results are coming out in mid-Jan so hope for the best and if all goes well, I'll be going to JC and I'm so looking forward to that. (Being in an all girls school for the past 4 years, it's normal to be missing hanging out with guys. Though I have guy friends but it's not the same hanging with older guys kay)
So shall update soon (hopefully)
Chao,
Sam
Labels: ;), 4C2, Holidays, Life, Os, random, School Finally~I seriously don't know if this is a relief or a wave of nostalgia. It's the last day of the June hols and I'm all ready to get back to school and CHIONG my way all the way to Os. It's been a great holiday and I really got a good break. Now it's time to work hard and study like a CRAZY MAD COW! Anyway, the school had planned for a Night Study Session Zzzz for us !!!! It's gonna be like those Korean Drama where the kids actually go back to school in the night JUST TO STUDY IN THE AIR CON LIBRARY !!!!!! It's gonna be like SO COOL!! I'm pretty excited for it if you can't already tell. Today is also my last day in tuition. I don't really know what to say. Although I don't really enjoy tuition, neither do I enjoy Alex's occasional bad jokes and wasting of time, tuition is already like part of me. I started A Math tuition last year cuz I failed my first A Math test and it was somewhere in Feb-Mar. I've come so far with this weekly routine that I think I may miss it now that it's ended TT_TT [Actually, I kinda regret not checking the guys out sooner, didn't notice there were a few eye-candies in there... Now I wun get to see ECs no more] When school starts tomorrow, it'll be the Sec 4's last semester in Crescent. Can't believe that it's already coming to an end. I still remember when I first stepped into Crescent, I was quite scared with this All-Girls thing. I still remember the days when I ended up being Emo and missing the guys :P Though occasionally, I still miss fooling around and getting into trouble with guys, but I've found unexpected friends in Crescent that really light up my life there. The "office" is really a place where I found fun, joy and laughter in Crescent and it's really unexpected that I ended up there. Never thought I would find guys in a girls school, to be more exact, guys who actually ended up being my Crescent have left with me so many wonderful memories ( though the road started off pretty tough and I do have some painful memories...) and I am going to create more perfect ones in the coming semester, though our major exams are coming up, we're still gonna have fun and study hard together as a class and with my buddies. I promised some people that when I graduate, I would come back to visit in my JC uniform and I will keep that promise. Can't let those who have put in so much effort on me down right? 4C2, if you guys ever see this post, which I don't think anyone would...(If you actually do, leave me a shout out in the chat box) All the best guys! We will work hard and do our school proud. Like our class motto, THE SEA IS TOUGH BUT WE'LL STAY TOUGH, WE'LL MAKE IT THROUGH, GO 4C2!!!!! "C2 on top of the world" Cheers, Sam Labels: 4C2, Exams, Miss you, random, School, School Life
So I was watching some random videos on Youtube and came across this series called “World’s Strictest Parents". So, randomly, I decided to watch the series.
There’s this one episode (i think is S4E3) that really made me think a lot. It talked a lot about treasuring education and showed the needs of respect and stuff…
Comparing our lives to those of kids in third world countries, we are VERY fortunate and sadly, not many people actually realize that. Most of the time, youths in developed countries complain about the slightest things. We get to study, but many are not making full use of this opportunity and think that education is a waste of time. I find that we should really think about what we really want in our lives, do we really just want to “have fun" and waste our youth.
Our parents have gone through so much to give us what we have and yet we are still complaining about what we lack. Not everyone is as fortunate as us who have internet and computers. There are many children out there that don’t even have daily necessities such as water and food, they suffer from diseases and illnesses and don;t even have the basic healthcare resources. There are children who don’t even know who their parents are.
Now that we know what we have and we realize how much we actually have, we should appreciate it and Thank God for all we have
