This is me |
Hey guys, haven't updated in a while since I was pretty busy with work and tuition stuff so yeah. Here's what I've been up to lately. So I've been working since like December, mainly taking up really ad hoc jobs and I guess my 'most permanent' jobs would be giving tuition and doing some table clearing for buffet. It's been 3 months into my tuition job and I'm glad to say that at least I've passed my probation period and it's time that they pay me more or at least what I think I deserve. Given the fact that I've been working so hard and actually generating my own materials for my students, I think that my boss is 'exploiting' me a little actually. They actually expect me to come back to work on a public holiday sighs. Started off 2 SLs at the start of this year and I can say that it wasn't an easy journey. Through all the ups and downs, we managed to conclude both Growing 2gether and PAKO successfully. Shall dedicate this post to everyone who helped out in one way or another. It's June Read more »Labels: 2015, Badminton, CCA, Hwa Chong, HWACHIE, Photographic Society, School, School Life This post will a bit annoying for some you out there but I still think that I should talk about this here. Well, for those of you who know me, I'm in 2 CCAs, namely Photographic Society and Badminton. For badminton, I'm supposedly in the "school team" but it doesn't seem to be that way for me. I guess it pays to be the only JAE kid (more like the only person who was not from NYBadminton)I wouldn't say that I'm all that good but I'm not that bad either. As compared to them, I know I'm nothing but I find that you don't have to look down on people just because they don't have the skills that you do. Being in badminton, I've made some pretty good friends, but I've also been able to see through some people and realise how hypocritical they are. I guess when you are all the way up there (or so you think) you will have this kind of attitude. I normally don't like to talk about this kind of things on social media, but this has really got me quite mad. Listening to the way they refer to Badminton Recreational Club members and literally looking down on them is something that I'm really against. I guess you can't expect everyone to be nice and patient. I still remember back in the days in CrezBadminton when we actually spent time and effort teaching our juniors and making sure everyone on the team is treated as part of the team. I really hate listening to them refer to others as if they are worth less then what they are worth. Haish, this is the life of us in such an elitist environment.

Labels: Annoyed, CCA, Hwa Chong, Rants Hello World! Haven't updated in a while... (*Guilty smile* hehe) Well it's the HOLIDAYS (So they call it) What holiday? 可以吃的吗? I guess this is the life of a student in Singapore. Unlike our counterparts on the other side of the world (aka USA), most of the time, we'll be spending our holidays mugging away trying to finish holiday assignments, catch up with school work, training for Seasons etc. It's been 1 month into this so called holidays but haven't really had the time to really have a good rest yet. What's been going on for the past 1 month: 1. PA Youth Integration Ambassador 2. Badminton Training + Gym Sessions ~ 3. Remedial Lessons TT.TT 4. Rushing School Work & revision 5. Family Gatherings and much much more ~ Firstly shall share about the Pa Youth Integration Ambassador thingy I signed up for (obviously with my best banana friend, Mel) So we went for the workshop session the week after OP ended and it was quite interesting mingling with the other volunteers and sharing our personal stories. We shared about all the stereotypes and things we heard about these "other people" that people often refer to. It was a really insightful experience. Following that workshop, we had anther 'story telling' workshop where we worked on a 'story' that we want to share with fellow Singaporeans. the main aims of this program is for us to discover untold stories and share them with the rest of the world. Submitted the proposal for our story already and all that's left is for the approval and we can start work. I guess the stories should be out by January 2015 (so looking forward to it ^^) Next up, TRAINING~~~~
The week OP ended, I started training. Good news is that Badminton Recreational Club is combining with us (yay to not so lonely Sam) and the bad news, more and longer training sessions. Well, I would say that I'm training quite little as compared to the other team player so I make up for that by going to gym after training of just running once in a while before training. Hopefully I'm still in team next year and can be part of the team that get Hwa Chong Badminton into Top 4~ Screwing up my promos, I needed to go for remedial lessons during the holidays. Thank goodness it's only biology for me, but still I have a lot of work to do or the other subjects. (I NEED MY AAAAAAAA) Well I would say remedial is more fun than normal lessons, at least I find them more productive than usual lessons. In those 2 hours I spend there every lesson, at least I learn something. On this note, I just want to thank my Bio teacher, Mdm Low for all her help this year. It's quite sad that she would be leaving the school and won't be teaching us next year. Now I'm scared for Bio, what if I get the scary Mrs Foo, or even worse, some new teacher who can't teach o.o My bio isn't all that good already, so I really can't afford to have someone who can't teach to take us next year~ I need my A for Bio!!!!!! Moving on, rushing for school work... School hasn't been all that easy this year. (Honeymoon period my foot! Where got honeymoon so tiring one) Anyway, there are loads and loads of holiday assignments and revision to be done.
Finally before I forget FAMILY GATHERINGS!!! This November I spent quite a lot of time with my family and relatives. Firstly we met for my niece's baby shower (Yes, I'm an aunt for the third time already. Soon I'll have another baby nephew. Head count as of now is 2 nephews and a baby niece)
We also celebrated my Grandma's 80+ birthday with a buffet last Saturday (Yay for the food)
I also managed to squeeze out some time for the family this November. We went to Alive Museum at Suntec City (hehe we had free tickets) and went to play Snooker at the club house.
Hmmmmm.... Review on the museum?
I would say that if you ask me to pay $25 just to go in there, I wouldn't go. It's just a big hall with different sections for people to take photos. As we went on a weekday it wasn't really crowded (well there was a crowd but not enough to make me feel uncomfortable) The art pieces were really cool and stuff but to pay to take pictures, I really wouldn't. Shall do a detailed review of that place in another post soon.
SNOOOOOOKER I'm confident to say that I'm horrible at table sports (snooker, pool etc.)
We also went shopping and collected our race pack for this Sunday's NewPaper Big Walk. Don't ask me why, but lately, my family is a bit crazy for over running and weird walks and stuff. Was at WestGate last Saturday (I think) and they had the SG50 event where you can write wishes for Singapore. They also had the Heart Map Van parked outside the mall. The Singapore Heart Map event is for Singaporeans to share their favourite place in Singapore and why it means so much to them. I shall write on my favourite place in another post soon hehe. You can submit your entries and find out more about the Heart Map on their website. Click here to go to the Heart Map Website. Click here for more about SG50 Celebrations~!
Time to go back to studying~!

Hello world! It's been a while since my last post ~ (well.... almost 3 months lol)
So, many things happened, from school work, PW to all the little things that happen in life and class politics (to a certain extent)
Starting off, I'd like to say that all this stuff about "class politics" and "school life stuff" is just from my POV, don't flame anyone else. If you want just confront me, I'd gladly take the flame, but please be reminded playing with fire will burn you.
Anyways, moving on...
Significant events in August, September & October...
(i) Promos (and how much I screwed it all up)
(ii) PW madness
(iii) This class and all the nonsense that I've had to deal with in the past 3 mths
(iv) LIFE (of the lack thereof)
Well, I finally found time to drop by this blog to leave a post (have really been busy with all the school work and what nots...and my other private blog tooooooo)
So promos weren’t really as great as I'd expected it to be, but neither has it been that bad. I would say I'd expect that I'd screw up so it isn't all that bad. But grades really do matter especially in such a school. I don't want to say this but this school is a VERY RESULT OREIENTED SCHOOL. You can say that learning is an important part of life and we shouldn't be focusing on our grades but who can you kid, everyone just looks at that piece of paper you hold. No one is going to care how hard you studies, how much you understand or how much you learn. The main focus here in this school and even in the society is just that piece of 'toilet paper' that can get you a good job in the future.
I have people telling me that my grades are okay already and that I should not always be so result oriented and focus on the learning process, but these people have to realize that they can only say this because they are already there. Life is already stable for them.
Another thing I'd like to bring up is that classmates really make a big difference to your school life. I am really thankful for Mahboobs and all the support they give me during my mental breakdown sessions and taking all my nonsense when I'm freaking out and stuff.
14S7C hasn’t been a bad class, but I can never say that they are the best. Everywhere we go, we’ll definitely meet people whom we don’t click with or just like to be annoying. Also, there is one point that I’m not afraid to speak up on and that would be A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS CLASS HAVE NO COW SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO PEOPLE RELATIONSHIPS. It’s like all they care about is how well they do, or how well they didn’t do relative. They talk about things (be it results or other stuff) as if there is no one around them. Have you people ever considered the feelings of others. I don’t want to name names, but there are a few people who got on my nerves during the return of papers. These people really have to learn to STFU. Be more sensitive. All you high IQ low EQ toots.
Moving on, the end of Promos marked the start of PW crazy period. We were practically sleeping 4hours every night rushing out our WR and preparing for OP (which is next MONDAY !!!!) WR really got on my nerves and I nearly exploded on people too many times to count. Also, OP is my greatest fear. You can ask me to type a proposal and write stuff but DON’T PUT ME ON STAGE. I HATE PRESENTATIONS!!!! Stage fright + low self-esteem = failure in presentations. Now back on track. WR really took up a lot of time especially when normal lessons were on going. I couldn’t really concentrate in class and was practically dying everyday. As for OP, at least we have this intensive period to prepare. Staying in school everyday just to recite the presentation over and over again. Well, it is fun sometimes. What more, there is still the final document we have to hand in (I&R) after OP(lucky I’m done with that).
I can’t really say that I LOVE PW but after a while it starts to get fun. With all the random meetings we have every weekend and all the fun times we have together, can’t help but hope that this period would stay on forever. It’s been a great experience with my group mates and really working with them and not having enough sleep together.
Time for “CLASS”
It’s the last day of school which means I have to survive with this class for another year and wheeeee I’m gone.
I really can’t bring myself to say that I enjoy being in this class. It’s like there are always times when we have fun together and really enjoy spending the time together, but there are also times when I really hope that I wasn’t in this class. Sometimes I wonder why am I even here? Would life be different if I was in another class, another school? Maybe I wouldn’t be so stressed out by the competition in this class (Yes my class is competitive even thought they don’t explicitly show it) Maybe I wouldn’t have so much hatred in my body.(Yes, I admit, I hate some people in my class and by hate, I really mean hate, despise, want to have no relations with) I know that by saying this, people who are reading will think that I’m a 2 faced bitch who is back stabbing her classmates, well let it be. I can’t always be smiling. I can’t always be the nice person taking in all that nonsense from all these annoying people. I can’t always be the person who just pretends to be blind and cover up for you people. You have to take responsibility for what you have done (or not done) you cannot always expect the minority to conform to your behavior and join you in your recklessness and disrespect. I admit that I’m not the best student, neither am I the best person, but there is one that I’m better than this group of people I’m referring to is that I own up to what I have done. Yes, I am a 2 faced bitch, but at least I have the guts to own up. Do you? Will you? We all know why you are here and where you get everything from so don’t act as if the whole world loves you. And for the rest of the class I’m fine with people who don’t get on my nerves.
The people who know me will know that I’m someone who forgives and forgets really easily. Although when I hold grudges, I’ll make sure I hold them until they are resolved. To be really honest, when I came here, I decided that I’ll not get involved with all this class things and just live my life as a normal student. Finish my 2 years here and just leave with a few close friends. That’s the reason why I didn’t even bother go for any class positions or what not. Yet, I still end up in this pile of shit. Guess that’s the life of a JAE kid in an IP dominant school. IP kids are nice people, I know many nice people out there who are really caring and in general nice people. But there are some who are #$%&*^$ idiots. So, no stereotypes. To each his own, you live your life, I’ll live mine. (In no way am I flaming the school or the system , it’s just the character of some people that annoys the hell out of me)
Now for some life updates.
After promos I’ve been on photo spree, taking pics every weekend and spending plenty of time editing photos and stuff. Life is great but I’ll be spending this holidays mostly on studying and badminton training. (Did I mention I’m in badminton, yes surprise surprise!) Sam is in badminton, not rec. badminton but the actally school team one. Really didn’t expect to get in and be the only JAE kid there. Well, it’s an honor to be on the team yet, it gets a little lonely there with all the players from High school and NYGH. Like these people have been together for at least 4 years and some even more so it’s kinda hard to fit in especially trying to play doubles cause you really need to find that special connection to play well and not end up smashing each other on the head in court.)
Also really happy to have been able to enjoy my last few days as a J1 with Mahboobs. Laughing, eating and just relaxing. I guess JAE kids really do click well with each other. You can say that we’re exclusive but you cannot say that you are not.
On a random note, A levels starts next Monday (with GP lol) All the bets to all my seniors out there, in hwach or not. A huge thank you and good luck to my failure “tuition” teacher, may the odds be in your favour.
Labels: 14S7C, 2014, CCA, Hwa Chong, Hwachi, HWACHIE, J1, Late post, Life, Mahboobs, My Life, People skills, Promos Hmmmmmm this is a tad bit late, but better late than never right ^^ It's already September holidays!!!1(can't believe time flew by so fast) Anyways, it's been damn long since I sat for the DREADED BLOCK TEST. Have to say, it wasn't the easiest papers but at least I did relatively well (it's quite good actually, considering the amount of effort and time I had) Now for the real thing,
Econs was pretty disappointing (cuz I had an A in CA) Really didn't expect my Case Study to pull me down by so so much.
Well, all's done is done. It's 2 weeks to promos (to be exact 16 days countdown~~~~ I crey) But life hasn't been all that bad actually, I guess... Stuff happened, well, i shall leave that for another post. Back to studies. Term 3 wasn't the easiest I can say for sure, but on the bright side of things, I've been improving for most of subjects. School life is never easy. This term was filled with so many things. Like a ton of stuff happened CT Photo taking, NDP celebration, STJ, MAF, Teacher's Day (OMG BACK TO CGS DAMN HAPPY), GEMS etc. (those that I can remember lols) Now for a summary of life events... (i) CT Photo taking... Well, I miss the seniors. Can't deny that. I guess I'd still prefer having people who actually know stuff to teach us rather than people who are of the same rank or even worse to "teach" & "guide" me. To me, photography is not all about the techniques. It's about what you can capture that tells a story and not how you put your rule of third to good use =.= (ii) NDP Celebration + STJ Fun day! Did duty for NDP celebration in school taking photos and stuff. Though I couldn't really "enjoy" it with my class and friends, I had fun taking pictures. I guess non-photographers can never understand the joy I find in just capturing moments and it's even better when people acknowledge your work. After that we went for STJ!!! BBQ in the afternoon (cuz BBQ in the night is too mainstream~) It was really eating and bonding with the class and the seniors. At first I guess I was quite pissed with some people. Who are you?! Why do the seniors have to serve you. Offered to help out with the cooking and soon they felt guilty I guess. STJ helped to bond the class a bit but not for my group of friends cause we didn't want to play cards... The whole class, including the seniors, were playing cards. Well at least I had fun taking pictures (and videos of them pushing the guys into the water hahaha) (iii) MAF Mid Autumn Festival Celebration (And it's the actually day today. 中秋节快乐) Anyways, it's a tradition to celebrate MAF in Hwach and it's kind of a big big event. The grand light up was awesome. The performances were awesome. I took some pictures but didn't really have the time to process them (I have 3-4 albums waiting for me to review, i crey) Anyways, had a fun night and even got a chance to meet up with Taylor and Andrea *hearts* (iv) TEACHERS' DAY!!!!!!! Once again, covered duty for the celebration. As compared to that in Crescent, I think the celebration in Hwach isn't all that special or wonderful. I don't even know half the teachers in the school and some aren't all that friendly either. Anyways, it was kinda cool covering the event in the horrible lighting in the Auditorium (I can say that orange light is horrible for photos, everyone look so tanned) The best part of the day... BACK TO CRESCENT !!!!!!! Never thought I'd say this but I MISS CRESCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like everyone always say, you never know how precious things are until you lose them. I really miss those times I had in Crescent. Though O levels was tough, it can never be as bad as As. I totally miss 4C2 and all the crazy stuff that we did. I miss how bonded our class is and how we are so cheerful and fun. I miss all the nice teachers. They're so dedicated and really give their all for their students. I miss how teachers would actually say hi when you greet them. I've been ignored by so many teachers in Hwach that I got sick of greeting teachers. Most importantly, I miss my TA office. Really miss the old gang. (The "old" people who are not so old like Mr. Wan, Mr. Wee, Myo, Fitri, Robin, Wendell and the all so ego HANZ LAI) I guess it's not the same when you're in a school where you don't even know half of the level, let alone the teachers and non-teaching staff. Going back to the TA office really isn't the same as before. Having the 4 of us walk back into the same room that bonded us from the start really bring back many memories. And obviously, back to the balcony that started off our friendship with them. I miss how we would stand at the balcony and say hi to everyone. All the jokes we had, all the songs we sang and all the crazy stuff we did in the office. According to Hanz, the office is quiet nowadays. No juniors to take over our place, no one to keep the place lively. I'm so going back there after Promos if I can, maybe on spring cleaning day to mess around with stuff and maybe get to know the new guy... (v) GEMS~ After a long long planning period, we finally went for GEMS~~~~ Cycling at ECP was really fun and I'm glad I didn't get injured. I think that was really a chance for us to really bond and really have a little fun while we mug hard for Promos. Didn't bring my DSLR that day, but was lucky that I made a last minute decision to bring my compact camera to grab class photos and stuff. Cycling for 2 hours is no joke, my legs were aching like mad already and we still did so many takes for our jump shots (LOL the pain) All in all, this term was really fulfilling and fun. Really hope that our class can stay this bonded and really have fun together. We can have cliques and be bonded as one (Y) Now that I'm done with this post, I shall write another for some other stuff that happened. People who know will know ... Till next time, Sam Labels: 14S7C, 2014, Exams, GEMS, Hwa Chong, Hwachi, HWACHIE, MAF, My Life, NDP, photo shoot outing, School Life, STJ, Teacher's Day Hello World!
This is gonna be a short post...
Didn't really have much time to update for the past few weeks cause of all the OCIP stuff. (Shall rant about the t-shirt printing when I get back...)
It's the start of the June holidays and boy am I gonna be busy. With so may projects and school work due on the first day of school, I don't think I can even get a proper rest this hols.
June holiday plans:
Wk 1 - OCIP Nepal (yes Imma be climbing mountains jkjk just a little hiking with a 30kilo bag and cameras. All those lifting is gonna pay off haha. gonna spam photos when I get back)
Wk 2 - (After I get back alive...) Econs ILP
Wk 3 - PW WR stuff (damn I hate this subject but I love my group *huggggggs*)
Wk 4 - HARDCORE MUGGGGGGGINGGGGGGG for Blocks
P.S. I seriously think that they don't intend to give us a proper break. Like there's so much to do, so little time.
Now for a little bit bout life.
Glad that Term 2 is finally over. It's been stressful and tiring but fun nonetheless it was fun. A lot of things happened in the last 10 weeks and I have to say that not everything was fun. I've had my share of failure (actually A LOT of failure) not only in academics but also in character. I guess life in JC is not what I had expected it to be. Having all these troublesome people and annoying situations really pushes me to my maximum point but it's through these times where I get to see who are my true friends who will stand by me no matter what.
Taking off tomorrow and I REALLY EXCITEDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!
Gonna take this time away from civilisation and the Internet to do a little bit of reflecting and clear my mind. Term 3 will be a new start and I'll come back stronger than ever.
[Shall leave the spamming for after I get back :))))))]

It's been a really long while since I updated (almost a month since my last update) now on with life... Time really flies and a lot of things happened within this short period of time (by A LOT I really mean A LOT) 1 month of madness: - Photog ExCo stuff - HC Art Fest - Getting back LT - Badminton (or the lack thereof) - PW grouping and more PW toot - Load and LOADS of school work and plentiful of crap that happened Now to start off, it's seasons for badminton! However, contrary to popular belief, YES I AM IN BADMINTON (NOT RECREATIONAL) but I'm not competing this year (sadly... cause I came in too late for registration and yups...) In order for the coach to focus on the the competitive, I've been excused from training (yay?) Haven't had the chance to mix with the rest of the team (and this awkwardness will get worse once the seniors step down. they already have 2 singles and 1 doubles + the fact that I train doubles doesn't make life any easier. I guess I can only pray for the best and somehow just make it through the next 12 months) Photog stuff hasn't been easy either. People may think that Photographic society is a "slack" CCA, but I assure you, there's more than meets the eye. Running for ExCo wasn't the easiest thing to do for me (standing up front and giving a speech, NO WAY stage fright dudes + interviews? I'm a freaking joke la) Results were released today and sadly I didn't get in but the experience was worth it though. To be honest I'm quite happy with the new ExCo and would really like to congratulate everyone that got in and also to those we are like me, it's fine, at least we tried our best. I wish the ExCo will do their best to make CCA more fun and meaningful for us and hopefully a camp/exchange program soon? Art Fest is next week and I would say it's not easy being in the OT (to be honest, is life even easy to start with?) When we first met up, we thought we had a lot of time on our hands, but time FLIES!!!!!!!! It's next week and we just got our stuff ready. Gonna have to stay back tomorrow to do more hands on craft. Art Fest will not fail, I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO FAIL!!!!!! My academics haven't really been great either. Idon;t know if it's because I still can't get a hang of the stuff here, I'm not putting in enough effort, or I'm plain DUMB (I believe it's the last option...) Like seriously, how can a person fail so many tests and it's not only one subject. Though my econs may be good the rest of my school work is like shit. Sometimes I really doubt my decisions in life. Was it a right choice to follow my dreams and getting myself in a Science stream, or should I have just gone into my forte in the Arts stream? I know that nothing much can be done now but I can't help but have that question stuck in my head. Being in such a good class isn't helping at all. This class is seriously quite zai la (as quoted from my chem teacher) and being in the bottom half (meaning way way bottom) is not really the best place to be. (but I lessthan3 this class to the max. They're quite awesome to be honest) I guess there's nothing much I can do but MUGGGGGGGGG. To add on to the academic pressure, there's this "adorable" subject known as PW (dun dun dun....) I swear, this is the thing that steals our sleep away. It's like we spend 3 hours doing our PI DRAFT which carries on for like at least a month and what's the weightage? Less than 10% (like seriously WTF) Well, now that PI stage is over, we have GPP (like damn these acronyms...) Well at least this is a better stage cause I have my AWESOME group members. Though I don't say this often but I HEART my group, can't ask for a better group to be honest. (At least I'm kinda comfortable with the people in my group and most importantly I don't have to put on a goody goody image) If I were to describe my group I would say we are a big ROJAK, like all of us have quite distinct personalities but we mix quite well (maybe some better than others and some are just like the bangkuang that gets on our nerves when we eat too much)Next stop it WR and OP. I'm sure our PW group will do well with all our epicness and the brains (minus mine) Work load is starting to be a little bit more manageable, well at least I get to sleep in a little later (cause I found out that don't freaking need to be in school so early and after being ALMOST late a few times, I kinda found the best timing for me to get to school on time and have more sleep hehehe) Late nights are starting to get normal (I guess this is something that every JC/Poly kid will have to go through, the sleepless nights and crazy eye bags...) There have been days where I've survived on 4 hours of sleep and not break anything in the chem lab. But I guess I'm getting used to it already. (less sleep actually makes me more active except during lectures, that I'm not too sure) Last but not least, the most awesome thing that happened within this month was..... ARES FACULTY OUTING!!!!! I would say that I wasn't too thrilled for it at first cause they forced me into a skirt but it was indeed a PROMISING night!!! Really had a lot of fun with the class at the photo booth. Photo booths are SUPER FUN!!!! Though it wasn't full attendance, but it was fun with the people there nontheless. Oh and before I forget, CONGRATZ YONG HONG FOR BEING OUR NEW FAC HEAD!!!!!!!! Now to look forward to the next FO
And because I'm so hyped up by Ares FO...
I'm going for Artermis FO this Saturday!!!!! (so egg-cited!!!! and I even got a new dress from Groupon, not bad siol)
* TBH I intended this post to be a little more depressing at the start cause you can't blame me for being a little bit disappointed that I didn't get into ExCo. But after looking back at what happened this month and reading all the encouraging tweets and msgs from my classmates and friends, I can't bring myself to be emo over such a little thing in life. 失败后失望时难免的,但强者会从黑暗中踏出来。*

Life has been a little less drama these days but school work is really starting to pile up. Things that happened since the last update: - Council Elections !! - LOADS OF TESTS - Start of CCA sessions and plenty more Now first off, council campaign week wasn't really what I had expected it to be. It's not as "crazy" as it was in Crescent. I remember before president elections, the candidates would be walking around and giving out free stuff, but here, I didn't really see any of the candidates around. It's just so... normal... Well, campaigning sure is tough for the people and I'm glad that everyone pulled through. 3 people ran for council in my class and I'm really proud and glad to say that all 3 of them got in (CONGRATZZZZZZZ!!!!) It's not easy trying to get votes and "sacrificing" your life for the entire student body. While there were people who were celebrating when results were released, there are also those who had tears in their eyes. I guess you can't blame them, they gave it all but lost out in terms of popularity. *I have to say, council elections tends to be a popularity vote sometimes. If you don't have enough friends, say bye bye to your dreams of getting into council* Well, I find that no matter what, it was a great experience for them as well. Thank goodness I made the right decision not to run for council since I don't think I'll even be able to pull through the first phase. So kudos to those who ran cause you guys did a great job as well. Now for the cray cray school life. It's only week 5 and the tests are really piling up. Not to mention all the homework and group works. (Did I mention that PW groupings are out. I'm quite happy with my group members but scared that I'll end up being the most slack person since all of them are so on one) Now back to the tests and homework. I'd say I'm really struggling with the work-life balance thing cause work is really taking up too much of my time nowadays. Especially with all the CCAs and stuff going on in my life. Can't really understand what is being taught as well *worrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy* But on a brighter note, I can totally see why I should've gone to an Art class cuz ECONS FTW !!!! Have no idea what chemistry is all about but woohoo econs is all about da MOOLAAAAAA. Talking bout work-life balance, CCA statred in week 3! I pretty happy with the people in Photog, especially my group of crazy people. They make every photog session extremely fun and enjoyable. I'm planning on running for photog exco but will I make it, who knows? Badminton seems fun as well. There're only 6 J1s and 4 were from Nanyang. The other JAE girl, Zi Wei is planning on quitting badminton since she got in OAC leaving me the only odd one out (I'm really happy for her though, it's really hard to get into OAC and I'm glad she made it in). I guess I just need some time to blend in ... Now for some sentimental stuff... There's one thing similar about me and ma bro and that's we have this switch in us. When we want to feel something, it comes to us and when we decide that it's enough we just throw it aside like nothing happened. Being in a co-ed school now, there is no way we can hide from the fact that someday we will end up having some feels but still can't believe that it came so soon (actually it's quite unbelievable since our standards are pretty hard to match up to ) But things never end well for me at least... One thing about me is that I'll never put off for second and that's one thing that kills all my feels. Those around me should know that I'm super attention seeking and though I look strong, I need someone to depend on. Some of you reading this may know who I'm talking about when I talking about this. If you do, let's keep it that way. If you don't, then so be it. To that person who got me thinking so damn freaking hard, I think when you read this you'll know that I'm talking about you. All is cool now and I'm turning off that 'feels' switch and quack taping it down forever. I guess we're never meant to be and thank God I found that out before I fell too hard. It was nice to have illusions and since I know you like someone else (actually all along I knew but now it's confirmed), it's time for me to move on. So, friends? Moving on~ I'm SEXY FREE & SINGLE !!! with a cleared out mind :) Cheers, Sam P.S. People do leave me a comment for fun, peace, laughter, love, joy, harmony :D Labels: 2014, Hwa Chong, Hwachi, HWACHIE, Late post, Love life, Miss you, Sad Life, School Life, Super Junior MARCH HOLS ARE HERE!!!! After 3 weeks in a new school, it's finally the holidays. I can't help it but be really thankful that there is a break from school. There's just so much that I need to do to try to catch up with (not only work but also other stuff). I am dumb and I can't help it! I am seriously lagging behind the class by a lot. (like who the F gets such bad results for pop quizzes) This break is seriously gonna be a good time for me to really pull up my non-existent socks and really buck up on my work. *I'm gonna say this hoping that no one from my class or OG sees this. It's not like I hate them or anything, in any case, they're all really awesome and nice people, but I find a need to rant out my thoughts. Anyway, I don't think anyone will read this blog if I don't post the link. So here it goes...* And in other news: (I hope I don't offend anyone...) It's a good break from society. I need to clear my mind and get my head sorted out. I still can't tell who is genuinely my friend and who is just a freaking 2-faced Medusa (hopefully no one) After all that has happened in Sec 1, I am really becoming more paranoid to the people around me (except my buds) It's not that I'm anti-social or anything, but my senses are telling me to be more careful around some people and really stay away from others. I've been really careful with what I say and do (Trying not to turn the whole world against me is really hard okay) (No offence to the people in my class seriously.) My class is nice and all but sometimes I can't help it but feel left out. It's not that they don't involve me (though at times I think it's intentional) but being a JAE kid, it's not all that easy to TRY to blend in with the rest. I really envy some of my JAE classmates who really blend in really well. I try (or maybe it's not hard enough) At times I really wonder, why am I in such a class, I should be somewhere else, I don't belong there. They're all so smart and gifted and there is me POTATO! Tryna catch up both in academics and social life is really draining all of me. [Not that I don't like the class but, I think I should have gone to another school so that I wouldn't be struggling so much] I love the people in my class, especially my group of JAE friends, but it's really getting on my nerves that I'm an outcast (or so I thought) This holidays will really be a time for me to chiong my work and also reflect about how horrible I've been for the past 3 weeks to the people around me. I know I'm a horrible friend and an extremely terrible group mate/ partner. *sighs* Now to think about transferring out.... Signing off, Sam Labels: 14S7C, Hwa Chong, School, School Life, Stress Ever since school started, I haven't found the time to continue blogging (I know I still have 4 more posts for my Europe trip) but I've decided to write this post first. I received my O level results about 1 month ago and I was really happy to get what I got. I still can't believe that I did so well (though it's not the perfect score, it's still quite awesome to get such good grades) I had 5 A1s, 3A2s and a B3 for HCL which is like super duper surprising. So, my L1R5 is 3 nett. I am really thankful for all the support from my family, friends and the school for helping me achieve what I did. (Special thanks to Mr. Keong who really helped me a lot not only in Math but also being such a great teacher. He really helped me a lot throughout my upper sec years. He also guided me really well through my leadership role in Badminton to THANKS A LOT MR KEONG.) After getting my results, I had 5 days to decide which school to apply for. It definitely wasn't an easy decision. I always had my mind set that I wouldn't do so well but just well enough to get into ACJC but now I can practically go to any JC/Poly course I wanted. After thinking for a really long time and visiting many Open houses (and getting really tanned during this period) I finally decided to give Hwa Chong a try. People around me advised me to give it a try since it is always better to choose top schools. I was quite sceptical about getting into Hwa Chong since there are many top scorers in Singapore. Finally after a long wait, I received my posting on 5 Feb. I was accepted into HWA CHONG which was really surprising. I feel really blessed to be able to get into such a good and prestigious school. Reporting to school on 6 Feb, I met my OG for the first time. It wasn't really what I'd expected it to be. I was kinda awkward with my group and sadly because I decided to go for the KI trial lesson, I totally missed the ice breakers. I was quite hard to fit in afterwards since I didn't really know anyone. (but at least I managed to make a few friends before I left) I spent my first 4 days with my OG and I felt like I was seriously anti-social (though I'm actually not if you get to know me) The people in my group knew each other and were in their own groups and I thought I'd end up reverting to my sec 1 life again. Fortunately, as time past I managed to get to know each of them better (maybe not all but at last majority of them) and realised that they were really cool people. Time flew past and soon we were split into classes. I was lucky to have someone I knew from my OG in my class because at least I wouldn't be as awkward as before. My class is super cool and bonded though we only just got to know each other. I was really glad that my class is so nice and enthu. Coincidentally, my birthday fell on one of the CT orientation days and I was really surprised that my class actually bought me a cake (aww I love you guys.) It's really touching that they did it for me because we only knew it each other for 1 day and they make me feel so LOVED 14th Feb, Valentine's day marks the last day of our orientation. It's quite saddening that we are going to start school. As you can tell I really wasn't close with my OG but somehow, something in me just told me to join them for campfire night. And I have to say that it was really the best decision that I made. It was really fun doing SODACHE with the guys and I guess it really brought me closer to the rest. (To my CT, I love you guys too) Orientation is officially over and I really would like to thank some people that really made my 1st week in school so fun and memorable. Thanks Deborah and Li Wen for being such wonderful OGLs and letting us ship you guys. You guys really helped me a lot and helped me understand HCI better. Thanks OG2! I know I haven't been the best OGM to you guys and I am always in my own world but thanks for creating so many memories with me and for being so nice and funny. I hope we stay in touch and meet up and have more outings soon. Thanks 14S7C for being such a wonderful class! I am so looking forward to our 2 years together and I really hope that we can bond and be the best class ever. To all those people who had to suffer dancing with me and standing beside me during SODACHE Thanks for not pointing out that I seriously suck at singing and dancing (I am a horrigible dancer and my voice seriously sucks I know) 4 faculties, 1 HWA CHONG!
