Finally after more than 5 months of not writing on my blog I'm finally going to complete this Summer series.
"I'm never going to join RAG again!!" That was me after RAG in Summer 2016. But oh and behold, I'm back in RAG again. Since I'm writing this after sooooooooo long, my memory is pretty fuzzy. So much was going on during that period, all the drama and work to be done. All I can say is that stress really brings out the best and worst in people. (Though I remember pretty clearly who I was pissed off with, but this is not the post for me to rant about people, so let's move on in life and just forget everything bad that has happened during RAG. Shall attempt to make this post less wordy, but I doubt that is possible considering that RAG is a 3 month affair for freshies and freaking more than 6 months affairs for seniors. From the planning stage, designing the costumes and finally putting up the entire performance on stage, it was just really really hectic but it was truly an eye opening experience. Given a choice, would I do it again? Definitely yes! So here's an attempted summary of ERAG 2017! Read more »Labels: 2017, ERAG, noRAGrets, Orientation, SamFreedomAdventures
Raging inside as I write this post (for the second time!!) Was actually done with it but chrome decided to crash on me when chrome decided to crash on me! Cancer sia.
Well now that I'm back at this post, I hope I can remember what I was trying to express previously.
Soooooo, was supposed to write this right after the camp ended but obviously, I'm late again. Forgive me, my dear readers (I wonder how many people actually bother to keep following my blog to check for updates... Leave me a comment plox)
*Problem with goldfish memory is that I can't even remember what I wrote right before this so it's probably going to be a bit different from what I initially wrote ... :(*
Let's start this post off proper! Read more »Labels: 2017, Camping, ECEcamp, NUS, Orientation, SamFreedomAdventures, School, Uni Life
Time for a super duper late post. BME CAMP 2017!
Yes, camp happened at the start of June and it's the start of August already. Forgive me for my horribly packed schedule this summer that I have zero time for myself, let alone to write blog posts. But rest assure this post had been planned for since the camp ended, just that I really have no time to write. Brace yourselves as this will be a really long post (gotta start it way back from the planning stage all the way till the execution)
So let's throw back all the way to May when we actually started preparing for this camp. (Yes it's really late to start planning for a camp 1 month before but well, our camp turned out fine so yay). If I were to summarise the planning stage, I'd use one word to describe it, CANCEROUS. Have to clarify this, not to say that the people involved were bad, but it was just really rushed and there wasn't any concrete plan to it. And of course, me being the kancheong spider started panicking for no good reason (or maybe there was a really good reason and that would be that camp was supposed to happen in 1 month). Really thankful for all the people who were not in main comm but decided to help us out in programs and also vetting our proposal. Much love for you guys. Planning stage eventually went alright with a few minor changes here and there and we cleared Prof. Lim in one go so yay!
Now time for camp! Labels: 2017, BMEcamp, Camping, NUS, Orientation, SamFreedomAdventures, School, Uni Life RAG is officially over ! Can't believe this but this 2-3 months journey has finally come to a close. I have to say that RAG has been such a journey and I really had a lot of fun. For those who already know, you will understand how much I really enjoyed the dance and learning so much in costumes. So now for the main thing, the RAG CHALET!!!! In RAG Chalet we finally know who our Angel was for the Angel-Mortal Game. Have to say that it wasn't as fun for me I guess cuz my Angel was not there and I guess he was totally not interested in this game. Whereas for my mortal, I guess he just enjoyed the presents and well, it's been fun I guess. At least I felt the love from my Mortal sia. Well, for more fun, I decided to have another mortal which is my senior haha. Funny how he was totally fooled bout my identity and also much love for him. Honestly didn't expect gifts back from my mortals and the best thing is he actually have this Golden goodie bag like WTF *my mortals need to stop one-uping me* Read more » Labels: 2016, noRAGrets, NUS, SamFreedomAdventures, School Life It's the 2nd day of school! Wow! Can't believe that the 8 months of holidays have ended and I'm back in school. Certainly didn't expect myself to get into university considering how horribly I did in my Prelims, but oh wells, those are the thing of the past. Now that I've made it here, it's time to start mugging. Now to talk about something more related to the title of this blog post, my jobless life... Already set my mind on coming back to help out next year. RAG has definitely been an amazing journey and as I have said on my Insta post, I really treasure the friendship we've forged and the memories we share. Honestly, never really expected myself to step out and do something so different like dance. Although I always wanted the opportunity to dance, I knew I didn't have the talent and ability. Being part of RAG and dance was really something that came across my mind and really blessed to be able to be part of this whole experience. For those of you who have no idea what it is. RAG stands for Receive and Give. It's an activity organized by the NUS Student Union as part of the Freshmen Orientation activities every year. There are mainly 2 parts to this, the RAG part and obviously the Flag day part.
For those who know me well enough, you will know that I'm someone who will definitely sign up for flag day. Like I have no idea why, but I find this sort of stuff fun and meaningful at the same time. So why not?! This year, we'll be having flag day on 2 Aug all around Singapore (maybe I'll be at Orchard or something) So if you're free and see a bunch of young tired adults holding metal tins, do approach us and give generously to charity. It'll be certain that you will be seeing us along the streets, but I'm not sure how many of us will be awake and alive enough to approach people with a smile, so sorry in advance for our grumpy faces as we have late night practices the day before. On the other hand, do look out for the Engineer RAGgers and help us out. Although it's all for charity, it's also an inter-faculty competition as to who can raise the most funds. Engin has always been raising a really low amount so do appreciate the support!
Now for the surprising part, I've signed up for Dance and Costumes! Surprise! After staying in school for 6D5N, I'm finally at home and sleeping on a bed! The past few days have been filled with nothing but fun and laughter, be it from the camp itself or from RAG bonding day. Shall leave the RAG stuff for another post though I'm more excited to talk about RAG than Union camp... Nice to have met new friends and it's funny how I met a few familiar faces haha. (Had a good catch up with Wei Ling, my secondary school classmate and funny how my EnginCamp SP is now my OG mate hahaha) Honestly, I still enjoyed EnginCamp more, maybe because of the people or maybe just because I had a really bad SP experience, but the camp was still really really fun!! Time for the picture spam. (Can't really remember the details of the camp now, but I'll try to summarize it..) HELLO WORLD! I'm finally back (hehe) It's been an awfully long time since I last updated this blog and I have to say I've been really busy. Well, at least I'm back !
I know I'm a little lag but A's ARE OVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! I guess everyone's been waiting for this for a super long time, after all the mugging over the past 2 years, it's finally the time to have a good break before starting off on a new journey. Can't believe it actually. 12 years of formal education ended just like this. Well I can't say that I'll really miss school but I have to say, it's gonna be tough every morning deciding what to wear to school and who I'll be hanging out with in school cuz we no longer have school uniforms and classes to stick with. #adultproblems lol As for this holidays, no overseas trip sadly but I've been really busy already even though it's only the 1st week of holidays haha. Chalet, buffet, outings, Big walk etc. haha Let's start off with my getting fat routine.
